Tips!!
So, I thought I would start by sharing that I firmly believe that all kids need "Life Skills".
This was a big part of our day in home schooling.
Each kid has a checklist of their 1 thru 7. That need to be done each morning.
This is the simple stuff.....breakfast, make bed, teeth....you know..the routine.
The big kids did not have a physical list, but the littles had a picture page on the back of their door to remind them....
And now that we are in school the list is different and some things have changed but "Life Skills" are still alive and well...
Each kid has a laundry day...even the eight year old..she has been doing towels since she was five.

Amen! Shannon's list has always been on the fridge! It is our job as parents to raise children who can go out into the world and take care of themselves and others. Funny story, when my cousin...let's call him Abe.... was in his 20's his mother still did his laundry every weekend. One weekend Abe's mother was away, and so he decided it looked easy and he would do it himself. He called my other Aunt a few hours later to ask if Brown and Tan pants could be washed together. When she replied "of course they can." He stated "Thank God! I am on my 11th load." It turned out because he had never been taught, he took the "wash separately" tag a bit too seriously and has washed each item containing that instruction alone. 11 Loads, one item each. Teach your children now and save the planet's resources. **Names have been changed to protect the innocent (ME)

you are so funny. that's only helpful if your kids do their own laundry! i'm the one who has to be responsible apparently for checking that and i think i need a note;)
